Dear Over-the-Rhine Community,
For 141 years Emanuel Community Center has responded to changing needs of the Over-the-Rhine community. Emanuel Community Center 's Board of Directors has recently completed a strategic evaluation on the sustainability of existing services based on the needs and demographics of the neighborhood. The Board concluded there is declining market need for our current services and programs. Given this market situation, we have decided to discontinue services in both of these areas by the end of November, 2012. Emanuel will temporarily close our facility on Race Street to prepare for future opportunities.
Going forward, the Board is working to develop a new opportunity to continue to serve the OTR neighborhood. We are in a period to determine how to best fulfill this goal.
We are appreciative of the support we have received from the Over-the-Rhine and Greater Cincinnati community of residents, organizations, businesses, and donors. Know that we have appreciated working with you to be a part of the historic tapestry of Over-the-Rhine. . .
