The Center also collaborates with other organizations such as:- Children's Inc. to provide the Promoting Resilient Children Program to strengthen social and emotional skills.
- The Speech, Hearing and Deaf Center to receive preventative screenings and follow-up care.
- Lloyd Library and Museum to provide an enriched science and literacy program.
- Greater Cincinnati Oral Health Board to provide routine dental cleanings, exams and follow-up.
Violin comes to Emanuel
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the beautiful strains of the violin can be heard from the first-floor classroom of the Emmanuel Center.
The Suzuki method of music education is being used. This method was developed in Japan after World War II and modeled on the ideas of how children naturally acquire language. The Suzuki philosophy and form of music education are now used worldwide.
The program has been made possible with funding from the Wohlgemuth Herschede Foundation and the Dater Foundation. These foundations have not only provided the children with an opportunity to experience an instrument, but to also learn Spanish.
